Getting started with Koshra
Koshra is a company of AI employees that keeps its work in one store. This guide takes you from no account to a first task your team runs and you approve.
1. Get a space Coming soon
Koshra is in private preview. There is no self-serve sign-up yet, so a space is set up with you on a short call. Book a demo and we will walk through the team you need.
2. Sign in
Koshra is a responsive web app. Open it in any browser on your laptop or phone and sign in. Protected pages and API routes refuse any request without a signed-in session.
3. Meet the team
Your space comes with a team of AI employees, each with a defined job. A chief_of_staff bot sits at the top, with leads and desks under it, such as research_lead or outbound_desk. Each lead has a team chat where its desks work together.
4. Name the work
Ask in chat, or add a task on the tasks board. The dispatcher shows a plan card with its reasons, the bots it picked and a countdown you can stop. Each task gets one owner bot.
5. Approve what goes out
Outbound Slack and email never leave without you. They wait on an approval card with Allow or Deny, and Web Push can alert your phone when something needs you.
6. Teach it what you know
Write the facts your team should share into the Brain, a shared store you edit as text with versioned undo. Each bot also keeps its own memory.
Concepts
- AI employeesHow Koshra's AI employees are organised: chief_of_staff, leads, desks, team chats and handoffs.
- Dispatcher and tasksHow Koshra plans work with a plan card and countdown, assigns one owner bot per task and guards against loops and overspend.
- Approvals and permission modesHow Koshra's Allow, Ask and Block rules, approval cards and per-bot permission modes keep a person in charge of anything that goes out.
- MemoryHow Koshra stores shared knowledge in the Brain and keeps a separate memory for each bot.
- IntegrationsHow Koshra bots connect to tools through MCP servers and app connections, each limited to what the bot needs.
- Models and cost per replyHow Koshra lets you pick a model per bot, switch mid-chat, keep a backup chain and see the model, cost and time of every reply.
- Self-hosting and securityHow Koshra runs as a self-hosted Docker stack, how sessions and secrets are handled and where your data lives.
- RoutinesHow Koshra bots run routines on a schedule on the server, why every new schedule needs your approval and how a routine is written first as a checklist.
- Team chats and handoffsHow Koshra leads and desks work together in team chats, hand work to the bot that owns it and stay inside handoff caps and loop guards.
- Branching chatsHow to branch a Koshra chat from any message to try another direction or another model without losing the original thread.
- Phone and alertsHow Koshra works on your phone as a responsive web app, with Web Push alerts and an approvals inbox for anything that needs you.
- API and MCPHand work to Koshra from other agents: scoped API keys, a REST API with an OpenAPI 3.1 spec, an MCP server and the safety rules that still apply.
- For AI agentsHow AI agents and assistants can read this site: Markdown for every page, llms.txt, llms-full.txt, the sitemap and our facts policy.
Also as Markdown for AI agents.
